16 hours. Hundreds of unread messages. One unexpected moment of clarity.
I finally took a break—and what started as digital decluttering turned into a powerful reflection on purpose, leadership, and calling. Recognition I missed. Messages I never got to reply to. Gratitude I’m finally putting into words.
After years of grinding, growing, and going nonstop, I finally carved out time for a much-needed vacation. But like most of us in this digital age—and true to my Filipino spirit—I brought my phone along. What started as a casual scroll quickly turned into something deeper: a soul check-in.
Sixteen hours. That’s how long it took me to go through just some of the unread messages, photos, and group chats I had unintentionally left on “read.” I sorted, saved, and time-stamped memories the way only a slightly OC person would (no judgment, please😅).
But then I stumbled upon a folder that stopped me in my tracks.
It was filled with photos of recognition and award ceremonies I wasn’t able to attend—between 2017 and 2024. While I was deployed in the U.S., my incredible teammates accepted those honors on my behalf.
Let me be clear: I never took those moments lightly.
Every token of appreciation, every recognition, is more than a symbol. It’s a responsibility. A call to lead with integrity, to inspire by action, and to affirm that success is possible for anyone who dares to dream, shows up, and follows through.
These milestones don’t belong to me alone. They are shared with every person who’s supported me, challenged me, and journeyed with me. Most importantly, I owe them to God. I thank Him daily—for the calling, the opportunities, and the reminder that I’m part of something far greater than myself.
What truly humbled me, though, were the messages from people I don’t even know personally. Their kindness, encouragement, and heartfelt words left me speechless. Reading them now, years later, felt like a spiritual moment. I was reminded how deeply we can touch lives—even unknowingly.
This morning, I came across a quote by Simon Sinek that beautifully captured what I was feeling: “Happiness comes from WHAT we do. Fulfillment comes from WHY we do it.”
Everything suddenly made sense. Yes, I’ve committed my journey to a God-given purpose. And I hold firm to what I’ve always believed:
God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called.
He doesn’t wait for us to be ready. He equips us as we go.
So if He calls you—go. Trust. Show up. Follow through.
